Overview

TranscribeLocal is a local voice transcription application. Your privacy is fundamental to our product — audio processing happens entirely on your device, and we have no ability to access your recordings or transcriptions.

The TranscribeLocal Application

  • Audio data: All audio recording and transcription happens locally on your Mac. Your audio never leaves your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any audio data.
  • Transcriptions: Transcribed text is generated locally and typed directly into your active application. We do not collect or have access to your transcriptions.
  • Temporary files: Audio recordings are temporarily stored in ~/Library/Caches/Vocal/ and deleted after transcription is complete.
  • Analytics: The TranscribeLocal application does not contain any analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
  • Network access: The app connects to the internet only for initial model download (~1.6 GB on first launch) and optional license validation. No audio or transcription data is ever transmitted.

This Website

This website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and GDPR-compliant. It collects aggregate, anonymous page view data only. No personal information is collected through website analytics.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, Paddle collects your payment information and email address. We receive your email address and transaction details for the purpose of order fulfillment (delivering your license key). We do not have access to your full payment details.

License Keys

When you purchase TranscribeLocal, a license key is generated and associated with your email address. This information is stored securely for the purpose of license validation. Your license key is validated once on first activation; subsequent launches do not require an internet connection.

Data We Store

The only personal data we store is:

  • Email address (provided during purchase via Paddle)
  • License key
  • Transaction ID

This data is stored solely for license management and customer support purposes.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Since the application itself collects no data, there is nothing to delete on the app side.
